Eldon's Dad has a very succesful vinyard where he makes a very nice wine. Eldon does not particularly want to go into the family business and since he has five older brothers and 2 younger sisters, he doesn't really see a compelling reason why he should. After running around with what his father would call an "unsavoury" crowd, young Eldon has decided to go adventuring. "Adventure" is a dirty word, though, in the Took family, but Eldon is confident that they will welcome him home when he returns. That is, he was confident before that bastard Stone set him up and framed him for a heinous crime. He shall clear his name or die trying!
He has traveled with Gwyneth before and while he rather enjoys her company, he has always thought her to be a bit ... touched. In the head. Not quite right, if you get his meaning. She has always been fiercely protective of him, though, and quite (ahem) affectionate at times, too, so he certainly doesn't mind traveling with her. He just wonders if that weird staff of hers really speaks back to her or not.
